Developer Magic Hat has announced the launch of Season 10 for DragonMaster, a Polygon-based title.

The month-long season kicked off on March 2nd at 4 AM UTC and will end on April 2nd at 4 AM UTC, with a total prize pool of 242k DMT that will be distributed to the top 1000 on the leaderboard. There’s also another leaderboard called EARN, featuring a TOTEM reward for the top 1000.

Changes to this new season include an optimized ELO ranking system alongside adjustments to the skills of family dragons and prop probability in Treasure Hunt.

When it comes to optimizing the ELO ranking system, the developers have added in a player protection mechanism where a new player who has played less than 30 games and has an ELO score under 200 will not see their trophies get deducted when losing a match. Players on the other end of the ELO score spectrum however will have to keep in mind that this new season includes a score decay system. What this means is that players with 500 trophies or higher amounts need to play at least 3 matches a day in order to avoid losing any points. If this isn’t done, then a specific amount of trophies will be automatically deducted at 4 AM UTC, starting with 20 trophies for the first day. The amount increases by 10 for every day in which you fail to meet the minimum number of games in a row, so if you go on a streak of not playing at least 3 matches 3 days in a row, you’ll lose 40 trophies on the 3rd day.

Matchmaking has also been changed in order to prevent playing with the same player straight away in the next match, meaning that the game force you towards other players before being able to play with the same person again.

As for prop probability in Treasure Hunt, the chances of getting a Trophy Card are now lower due to “reducing the output” of them. This was done due to last season showing that the item is “an important prop to hit the leaderboard.”

When it comes to skill changes, the attack damage for the Super Dragon has been increased from 3 to 4, while the moving speed for the Speed Dragon is now up from 30% to 50%. You can check out the full list of skill changes, alongside reward distribution, in the official post here.
