MeetKai Unveils Billboard in Times Square as Gateway to its AI-Powered Metaverse
The billboard will serve as a gateway into the Metaverse, and users can scan the QR code on the billboard to access the virtual world while receiving amazing benefits. Meanwhile MeetKai will continue to work on improving the technology.
Metaverse on a Physical Billboard
AI-based company MeetKai has expanded its frontier into the metaverse. The team is currently in New York to unveil its metaverse, which will be available on smartphones via a QR code on Times Square’s Billboard. By scanning this code, users will be able to generate an animated version of Times Square where they can move around using their avatar.
The company was founded by CEO James Kaplan and Executive Chairman Weili Dai. They started with AI products accessible via VR headsets and other smart devices.
In an interview, Dai said,
“The metaverse as we envision it is essentially mapping the real-world physical world to the AI virtual world. All of a sudden, your experience and knowledge, anything you do, is going to be at the speed of light.”
CEO Kaplan said the company would make the service available to companies and brands that want to use the metaverse technology to reach their audience.
The Metaverse and AI Reality
Users will use the free and public billboard on 7th Avenue to enter the MeetKai metaverse and other worlds through this ‘anamorphic portal.’ This Phase 1 Beta activation is the first step in MeetKai’s vision to enhance reality and make services such as shopping and learning more accessible.
Accessing the metaverse is possible for anyone with the QR code, and there will be special benefits for those who enter through the billboard. For example, they can access rare ‘Key to the City – NYC Edition’ NFTs, allowing users to get gift cards and unique features such as getting a street named after them.
MeetKai’s AI is compatible with nearly 20 languages, while its white-label services already have customers. The team's vision is to map the real world on an AI-powered virtual world with rich experiences that have the potential to improve life and expand knowledge using cutting-edge technology.
