Meta Gifts Xtadium to Sports Fans on Meta Quest
Meta has launched a new sports-focused virtual reality (VR) experience for its Oculus Quest 2 headset, promising viewers and rights holders a more immersive, social way to watch sport.

Meta has announced the release of Xtadium on Meta Quest. Xtadium will allow Meta VR users to enjoy sports more realistically and engagingly. It will provide spectators and rights holders with a more realistic, social way to watch sports.
'Xtadium' offers 180-degree VR streams in up to 8K video quality and configurable real-time statistics overlays. It will have eight alternative camera angles for a more individualized watching experience.
The app provides live events, immersive highlights, and on-demand playback. Viewers may witness the event with buddies at a private watch party or alone in their bedroom. The goal is to use technology to simulate the feeling of being at a sports event as much as feasible.
YBVR is hosting the UFC's live-stream VR content. They have partnered with the Euroleague to provide immersive coverage of the event. Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) is one of Meta's debut content partners. It will broadcast two Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) tournaments on demand, while Euroleague will provide archive data.
Xtadium will provide on-demand immersive renditions of Nascar races, live streams of All-American Cup - Team Tennis Tournament events, and ONE Championship fight card. Moreover, at the moment, the service is only available in the United States.
Recent Updates of Meta
Meta recently announced that it was cutting off 13% of its workforce, or around 11000 people. In September, it announced a partnership with NASCAR to broadcast on-demand race highlights and compacted 45-minute races in VR via its Horizon Worlds platform. Condensed 45-minute NASCAR races, including last week's Championship at Pheonix Raceway, will now be available on XTADIUM.
Meta will add more sports content to Xtadium in the upcoming months. Moreover, fans can purchase tickets to live pay-per-view events and access subscription-only content by authenticating with their favourite networks and leagues.
