PlanetQuest Releases First Gameplay Preview
The first gameplay preview is a single-player experience in which players use various different weapons to fend off waves of enemy creatures in top-down shooter action.
Galactic Entertainment has announced that the first gameplay preview for PlanetQuest, a blockchain title about exploration, survival and discovery, has now been officially released.
Everyone interested can try it out for free using the link found in the tweet down below. This preview can be played either by connecting a MetaMask wallet, or simply hopping in as a guest. The difference is that those who choose to connect their crypto wallet will be able to earn passport points.
In this work-in-progress build, players are tasked with solo defending the quantum shard from various enemy creatures using 4 different ranged weapons in top-down shooter gameplay.
The preview was released in celebration of the Planiversary, which marked PlanetQuest’s first birthday. That day, 200 passport points were given to everyone “who received a commendation.”
A day before the Planiversary, the team published this month’s dev update, in which they talk about the work that went on behind the scenes for preparing this gameplay preview. They discuss merging gameplay with graphics, working on weapons, abilities and effects, as well as preparing basic AI and pathfinding for 3D environments. You can check out what they had to say in their official dev blog post found here.
In the meantime, the 12 Days of Questmas, during which the developers give sneak peeks of what goes on behind the scenes, is nearing its end. The last tweet, the 9th day, gave us a glimpse into the VFX design process.
