Star Atlas Release Gameplay Foundations
4x, space-based MMO game Star Atlas releases gameplay foundations ahead of the upcoming playable alpha release.

Star Atlas has unveiled the gameplay foundations of its game which is currently under development. The game allows players to choose their preferred roles in the game. There will be a wide range of options for the playstyles. Players can choose to pilot a ship, command fleets, or rule worlds. As the game progress, players can continue to ascend from trader to pirate, to land baron, and finally a self-declared King. The release feature three gameplay foundations, namely military gameplay, economic gameplay, and political gameplay.
The Three Types of Gameplay of Star Atlas
In military gameplay, players command a fleet such as a ship or an armada. Players must act as mercenaries, pirates, or fleet supporters while playing mission or faction mode. The game allows players to customize ships, crew skills and even crafting systems. To play safe, players are advised to begin the flying mission in a safe zone before progressing to zones where crew and ship NFTs could be lost eternally.
Interestingly, the economic playstyle features a free market economy where players can get resources, craft ships, and build their economy. The first game impression will include twenty-two different resources. Resources would be generated from the curated production chain. Some resources would be readily available for use, while some need to be refined. Shortly, players might begin to fill up viable roles and specialize in specific markets and product lines.
Finally, Star Atlas features political gameplay. Players will earn bonuses for locking POLIS, the governance token, to gain voting power. Rewards for locking can go up to 10x if locked for 5 years. Invariably, long-term investors will gain more voting weight. Political gameplay includes factional politics and regional politics. Players can choose to join any of the three available factions: MUD, ONI, and Uster.
