World Tourism Forum Institute x The Sandbox Join Forces to Build Tourismverse
Who would have thought that the metaverse would one day integrate with the travel industry? But that's what's happening as The Sandbox is looking to build Tourismverse in partnership with WTFI.

The Sandbox metaverse is officially tapping into the travel industry
Leading metaverse company The Sandbox (TSB) has teamed up with World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI) and TourismX to develop Tourismverse - a virtual neighborhood on TSB.
The first-of-its-kind initiative will see real-life destinations featured on TSB, offering interactive tourism content for people to explore. With this, Tourismverse aims to prove that the metaverse is more than just entertainment and video games.
By integrating with the tourism world, Tourismverse will allow people worldwide to enjoy new experiences from their homes. Users can attend events such as online games, museum tours, live concerts, conventions, nightclub dancing, and more in the upcoming virtual realm.
According to WTFI, they are planning to build Bali, Indonesia, as the first case study in Tourismverse. Notably, this will be done with the blessings of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.
"Today is a very important day for us and the tourism industry. We are collaborating with the world's biggest and most influential Metaverse platform, which is The Sandbox. We initially start to build Bali - Indonesia as a sample case study for other countries. I also, thank to H.E. Sandiago Uno (Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Republic of Indonesia) for supporting this idea and project," said Bulut Bağcı, President of the World Tourism Forum Institute.
