Parallel Introduces Innovative Card Duplication Feature
Parallel's Replication feature is set to reshape the player-run economy by enabling the creation and trading of Echo cards, offering a novel and balanced approach to card acquisition and utilization in the game.
Understanding Parallel's Replication System
Parallel, a sci-fi themed Trading Card Game (TCG), is currently in beta testing but has already unveiled a new, innovative feature: the Replication system. This system allows players to duplicate their cards, creating what are known as Echo versions. These Echo versions are not mere copies; they are fully functional and tradeable, allowing players to engage in a player-run economy for these card copies.
The process of Replication involves the creation of Echo cards from owned First Edition, Special Edition, or Perfect Loop cards. To create an Echo card, players use PRIME tokens and Renown, the experience points earned by individual cards while playing the game. It's crucial to note that while Echo cards maintain the same functionality as the original, they can never be duplicated and earn less Renown.
The cost for engaging in Replication is set at 800 Renown and a fluctuating price in PRIME tokens, with the cost in PRIME tokens increasing as more copies of a card are replicated. This feature not only allows veteran players and card owners to monetize their assets but also enables players to acquire rare and in-demand cards at a more affordable price, preserving the collectible value of the original collections.
The Impact on Player-Run Economy
The introduction of the Replication system is poised to have a significant impact on the player-run economy within Parallel. By allowing players to create and trade Echo versions of their cards, Parallel is fostering a dynamic economic environment where players have the autonomy to determine the value and demand for these replicated cards.
This system is beneficial to both new and veteran players. New players can gain access to rare cards without the hefty price tag, allowing them to compete at a higher level and enjoy the game's full experience. On the other hand, veteran players and card owners have the opportunity to earn additional income by selling their replicated cards, thus adding a new dimension to their gameplay strategy.
Parallel continues to release regular patches to their beta, focusing on bug fixes, balancing adjustments, and the introduction of new features, demonstrating their commitment to providing a balanced and enjoyable gaming experience. The game offers a variety of cards, including units, effects (spells), and relics, and supports ‘Artigraph’ cards — NFT cards that are digitally signed by the artist, adding another layer of collectibility and uniqueness to the game.
