Aavegotchi Forge Introduces New Game Mechanic: Geodes
The Aavegotchi Forge now includes a new game mechanic called Geodes, which act as capsules gained by smelting wearables and they come in 6 different rarity tiers that affect the chances of receiving a prize from opening them.
The Aavegotchi Forge team has announced the release of a new game mechanic called Geodes.
Geodes are RNG-powered capsules that you can get by smelting wearables at the Forge. They come in 6 different rarity tiers, which affect the chances you have of getting a prize from opening them: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, Godlike.
In order to actually open them though, you need to head to the NPC named Flex, who will help you open these new gems without needing to own an Aavegotchi or GLTR to do it. What prizes await depends on the rarity tier.
The rarity tier of a geode has an effect on the chance of getting a certain prize from a prize pool, with the distribution process made transparent and fair thanks to the use of Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function). According to the announcement, the initial pool includes a curated collection of 4 legendary schematics that together form the Smithooor set, but as you “dive into the geode-opening frenzy, you'll find yourself amid a pool of 400 tantalizing schematics.” Here are the percentages for each tier showing how big or small of a chance you have of getting one of these schematics with your geode:
- Common: 0.7920%
- Uncommon: 2.3573%
- Rare: 9.8209%
- Legendary: 34.3900%
- Mythical: 86.3022%
- Godlike: 100%
In the next phase of this feature, which they call the implementation phase, the Forge team plans to introduce more schematics to the prize pool in order to “encompass prizes across all rarity tiers,” and in the event that the pool runs out before the next phase, “we may just sneak in some extra legendary schematics to keep the excitement flowing!”
