Aavegotchi Reveals Gotchi Guardians Progress & More in September Dev Update
Aavegotchi’s September dev update reveals that special weapon blocks will appear in The Aarena, while sharing that an upgrade system in Gotchi Guardians has been created, and more development info.

The Aavegotchi team is back with another monthly dev update, with the September one providing us with various details on progress made during last month, including info on Gotchi Guardians, the first Aarena map, and more.
How’s Gotchi Guardians Development Going?
Game director Jason Slama and his Gotchi Guardians team have made significant progress on the tower defense survival game during August, working on various important features. One of these includes creating an upgrade system for Lickquidators and towers, where you can upgrade both by up to 6 levels. Each level is differentiated not only by better stats but also by color, with purple representing the first level, teal the second, and so on. There may be other visual distinctions for levels too, such as with Rofl Launchers for example, where the number of leaves it has increases by leveling up.
What’s New in The Aarena?
The update post reveals that the team has successfully undergone a “full balancing pass” of the first Aarena map, improving the PvP fighting gameplay while having Lickquidators now appear on the map to battle too.
As you take on other players, you’ll start seeing special weapon blocks fall from the sky. The random weapon you’ll get from the block depends on “a combination of luck” as well as your rank on the leaderboard. This means that, if you’re winning the match, you’ll be given a defensive weapon, while if you’re at the bottom of the leaderboard, you should end up getting a highly attacking-oriented weapon to help you climb to a higher position on the rankings.
