Act Games Joins Forces with Sky Mavis to Bring Japanese IPs to Ronin
Sky Mavis has teamed up with Act Games to bring Japanese titles to the Web3 scene.
A major development has taken place as Sky Mavis, the firm behind Axie Infinity, has joined forces with Act Games, a renowned South Korean studio known for its collaborations with Japanese IPs. The main goal of this partnership is to transfer Act Games' titles to Ronin. The first step in this exciting journey is the introduction of Zoids Wild Arena, a Web3 game inspired by Japan's beloved anime series.
Axie Infinity, which debuted in 2021, has gained immense popularity, with a whopping $4 billion in P2P trading. This success led to the creation of Ronin, their L2 network, which has been extended to other game studios.
Act Games has made a name for itself by working with beloved IPs like Hello Kitty, Zoids, Aggretsuko, and Bubble Bobble. With over three million downloads across four titles developed since 2019, Act Games is a prominent studio. Their latest creation, Zoids Wild Arena, draws inspiration from the famous Zoids Wild and Zoids Wild Zero anime series, which began in 1983.
The migration to Ronin represents a significant step forward, allowing Act Games to harness the potential of Web3 while providing new experiences for players. Zoids Wild Arena, currently in beta, is set to launch worldwide, excluding Japan, China, and Korea. This Web3 game offers players an immersive experience where they can engage in battles, trade cards, and take part in blockchain-based dynamics inspired by mainstream TCGs.
The collab aims to expand iconic IPs and enhance player engagement in blockchain gaming. Those who migrate to Ronin's wallet will have the chance to earn rewards such as Zoids NFTs and a token airdrop, starting on November 8th.
