NEXUS World is an upcoming play-and-earn metaverse that incorporates geolocation and augmented reality (AR) capabilities.
Meet NEXUS World: The highly-anticipated mobile metaverse game
Affyn, a Singapore-based Web3 startup, has dropped a cinematic trailer of its upcoming mobile metaverse game, NEXUS World. According to the firm, NEXUS is a free, play-and-earn metaverse that incorporates geolocation and augmented reality (AR) capabilities.
In the 3-minute footage below, a girl is seen starting her day with a NEXUS buddy waking her up. On her way to work, she comes across neighbors and pedestrians with their NEXUS buddies before capturing a Bronto buddy herself.
While talking to her friends, a gigantic monster stomps in. The girl later defeats the beast with the help of her friends and earns FYN tokens. Using these tokens, the youngsters are seen treating themselves to some decent meals in an IRL cafe. After an eventful day, the girl returns home, waiting to hop into the next adventure with her NEXUS buddies.
More about NEXUS World
According to its official website, NEXUS World is a Polygon-based mobile metaverse game with a digital layer mapped to the real world. With that, users can explore, play and participate in activities based on their geolocation.
The game also features NFT Buddies - a digital representation of the adorable characters in NEXUS World. Players will be able to own virtual lands as well to build their empires in the game.
Occasionally, there will be campaigns and activities in NEXUS where NEXUS Buddies will be planted at a shopping mall, allowing users to hunt them through AR lenses, much like Pokémon Go, but with a Web3 twist.
By completing various quests and challenges in the game, players will earn FYN, a blockchain utility token usable in the real and virtual worlds. Players can use FYN to buy NFTs, purchase or lease property, and participate in various in-game events. In the real world, they can use these tokens to pay for travel, retail, and lifestyle purchases.
NEXUS is currently at the Alpha stage, set to move into Beta this quarter.
