After World Cup Victory, Argentina Football League Forms a Metaverse Alliance
Following the national team's victory at the World Cup in Qatar, Argentina's football association (AFA_) has joined the metaverse platform Upland. The Liga's native coin, AFA, will be incorporated into Upland's metaverse platform.
According to a press statement from Crypto.news, the coin will allow fan engagement between Argentine football fans, teams, and players. The game will include a variety of digital treasures relating to Argentine football, such as:
- historical events,
- game highlights, and
- other unique deals.
As people trade, sell and buy legal digital assets, the sale of various NFTs will provide the Argentinian top-flight league with a new source of revenue. Users of Upland will also be able to create virtual companies that will operate stores on digital properties where they can resell LPF digital collectibles. The metaverse platform establishes a virtual environment that allows for the
- creation of assets,
- digital land ownership, and
- the operation of a virtual economy.
The agreement with the Argentine Football Association follows Upland's previous cooperation with FIFA and FC Porto in the Portuguese Premier League. Following the signing of the latter deal, Upland delivered official digital souvenirs for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Moreover, the souvenirs included highlights from the most recent tournament.
