All Nippon Airways to Launch Exclusive NFT Marketplace
All Nippon Airways (ANA) and its subsidiary ANA NEO are set to introduce an airline group's first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

ANA GranWhale NFT Marketplace: A New Frontier for Airlines
All Nippon Airways (ANA), a prominent Japanese airline, and its subsidiary virtual platform ANA NEO unveiled its groundbreaking plan to launch an exclusive non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. Aptly named the "ANA GranWhale NFT MarketPlace," this innovative platform will be the first of its kind introduced by an airline group, focusing specifically on aeronautics-themed digital collectibles.
The inaugural item featured on the ANA GranWhale NFT MarketPlace will be a captivating NFT conversion of an aerial photograph by the talented photographer Luke Ozawa. Notably, one of these remarkable photographs will be sold with its original positive film, adding a unique touch to the NFT auction. Bidding for this exceptional digital collectible will begin at 100,000 yen (approximately $714).
Following this exciting debut, ANA has scheduled the second release on June 7th, showcasing NFT conversions of the first Boeing 787 aircraft. Enthusiasts will be able to acquire one of the 1,574 available NFTs, with 787 items offered for each type. Each NFT from this remarkable collection will be priced at 7,870 yen (approximately $56).
ANA Joins Other Companies in Embracing Web3 Technology
ANA has already partnered with four companies to offer their NFTs on the marketplace, demonstrating its commitment to expanding the product lineup and delivering diverse digital collectibles.
While ANA stands at the forefront of introducing an NFT marketplace within the airline industry, it is worth acknowledging that other airlines have also embraced the Web3 movement. In March 2023, Flybondi collaborated with TravelX to offer flight tickets as NFTs, providing increased flexibility, transparency, and security.
TravelX partnered with Kiu System Solutions in May 2022, enabling 73 airlines to tokenize and distribute their inventory as NFTs. Furthermore, Emirates Airlines announced its metaverse ambitions in April 2022, preparing to launch its collection of NFTs.
