The team behind free-to-play chess game Anichess has officially opened registration for Mini Game Early Access.
Anichess Mini Game Early Access Details
Anichess Mini Game Early Access is a lite version of the full mini-game that will be playable for a limited time and consists of 36 spell chess puzzles to solve of varying difficulty. By registering for this introductory experience, you’ll get to experience puzzle gameplay similar to the one found on Chess.com, who are partners of this Animoca subsidiary.
What differs from the puzzles from the world’s most popular chess website is that in this early access to the mini-game, you have to solve chess puzzles by using certain spells. It seems that there will be 3 starting spells to work with. While details on them do not seem to be specifically available, the developers have provided an example in the announcement of what a spell could do, saying that “some challenges involve a spell that transforms any friendly piece into a knight for one turn,” and that solving them could require using forking tactics or knight checkmate patterns.
The puzzles are split into 3 difficulty levels: Novice, Adventurer, and Wizardry, with the last one being the hardest. By splitting puzzles this way, this early access version gives players of all experience levels a chance to jump into the game and a nice way for everyone to test their wits.
Players can earn Orbs of Power NFTs by completing a certain number of puzzles. Orbs of Power represent the first set of NFTs in the world of Anichess, each of which “contains unique magic installed by its creator and holds the power to shape the Universe.” Once the early access period ends, players who completed 3 puzzles will receive a Pawn of Water Orb. Completing 6 puzzles is rewarded with a Knight of Fire Orb, while 12 puzzles gets you a Bishop of Water Orb, and successfully doing all 36 puzzles is awarded with the Rook of Earth Orb.
You have until October 27th, 11 AM HKT, to register for a spot through the game’s official website. There are only 2000 spots available, and you’ll be able to find out whether you’ve been accepted by logging in to the official website on October 30th.
By registering, you receive a ticket. To get more tickets, you can use a personalized referral link to refer more entrants, as well as hold Orbs of Power NFTs by October 26th, 23:59 HKT. These digital assets are available on OpenSea but can also be redeemed from the Anichess Shop using Elixir Points. A Pawn of Water awards 1 ticket, Knight of Fire 3 tickets, Bishop of Storm 3 tickets, and Rook of Earth 6 tickets. The same NFTs cannot stack, so if you own 2 Pawn of Water NFTs, you’ll still get 1 ticket instead of 2.
Even if you don’t get selected to participate, you can still earn bonus rewards in the form of up to 4 NFTs depending on the number of tickets you have, with those who have 10 tickets getting a Pawn of Water, while 20 tickets gets you a Knight of Fire; 30 tickets is awarded with a Bishop of Storm, and 50 tickets is rewarded with the Rook of Earth. The top 10 entrants with the highest number of tickets will get one Queen of Time each.
