Animoca Brands and Honda Join Forces to Enable Web3 Engagement for Motorsport Fans
The partnership will allow both parties to provide fans with a blockchain-powered engagement program.
Honda to go Web3 in collaboration with Animoca Brands
Animoca Brands Japan, a subsidiary of Web3 proponent Animoca Brands, has teamed up with renowned automaker Honda to provide fans with a blockchain-powered engagement program.
In partnership with crypto wallet provider Gryfyn, the collab seeks to leverage blockchain tech to create unique and interactive experiences, starting with the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.
Both companies aim to enhance motorsport experiences for Honda fans by offering exclusive digital and physical prizes through an innovative fan engagement program. Fans at Indy 200 can look forward to a fun activation through which they can receive free Honda merchandise and gifts. Gryfyn, a joint venture between Animoca Brands and Hex Trust, will power the blockchain side of things to offer a safe and seamless experience.
"Gryfyn is proud to be working together with Animoca Brands Japan and Honda to enhance fan engagement across Honda's motorsports initiatives and communities," wrote Gryfyn in a tweet. "Animoca Brands Japan is the subsidiary of Animoca Brands, with strong partners such as Japan's largest bank MUFG, Mitsui, and multiple IP investments. With Gryfyn, we are confident to bring a safe and user-focused experience to games and brands looking to build in Web3 and enhance engagement."
It should be noted that this is not Honda's first Web3 attempt. Last year, the automaker unveiled its new Acura Integra model with NFTs, exclusively for the first 500 clients who reserved their vehicles. This May, the company's Honda S2000 became part of Mattel's Fast & Furious NFT drop, expanding the brand's footprint in Web3.
