Animoca Brands’ Forj Launches Ape Accelerator
The APE token holders would be given the ability to support approved ApeCoin ventures through the Launchpad.
Forj, a web3 technology platform owned by Animoca Brands, has announced the launch of the Ape Accelerator. The innovative hub is a community-led accelerator and Launchpad funded by the ApeCoin DAO. The program has been crafted to champion community-driven Web3 advancements.
Harry Liu, CEO of Forj, said:
“We chose to launch on ApeCoin because it has the most collaborative and socially engaged community across Web3.”
He further explained that the idea is to drive more adoption for the Bored Ape Yacht Club-themed Token, thereby tapping into the hundreds of projects currently running in its community.
Additionally, starting from the fourth quarter of 2023, innovators can tender their applications to the $APE Accelerator. This is an exclusive opportunity to bring their Web3 business ideas to life. However, the CEO further explained that the focus of this project wouldn’t be on early-stage projects but on currently running tasks. He also added that a threshold has to be reached before these projects are considered eligible.

Genesis and Mission of The Ape Accelerator
The history of the $APE Accelerator can be dated back to the application for and successful approval of the AIP-209. This was an innovative proposal submitted via the ApeCoin DAO’s Idea Proposal (AIP) platform to boost the ApeCoin ecosystem and enhance its utility for holders.
Consequently, the accelerator was crafted to be double-pronged, consisting of an accelerator and a launchpad. The accelerator part was initiated to follow the traditional startup acceleration models such as tokenomics planning. On the other hand, the Launchpad offers ApeCoin holders the opportunity to support projects from the accelerator.
