Axie Infinity is Moving to ETH’s Proof-of-Stake Consensus Mechanism Connecting with the Merge
Axie Infinity is on a streak this season with its new updates and structural changes to the platform. This time, the team announced that Axie Infinity is going to implement the Ethereum Proof of Stake (ETHPoS).
Along with Axie Infinity, Ronin Bridge is also following the same steps.
Taking a Step Forward by Implementing Merge
A few days back, Ethereum made a big announcement about switching its consensus mechanism and moving to Proof of Stake. With Ethereum, the transition is named Merge because there are a few other elements involved in this as well. With Axie Infinity, the switch to ETHPoS means it will close the Ronin Bridge 24 hours before the Merge.
The Ronin Bridge will reopen when Axie Infinity has confirmation about support from Merge. This will ensure that Merge’s integrity is intact. Plus, after the transition, Axie Infinity will no longer provide support for ETHPoW.
