Blast Royale releases new update, brings back Deathmatch mode
The Deathmatch mode has been brought back to the top-down battle royale title while introducing new equipment stats, a new leaderboard screen and more in the latest update.

Developer First Light Games has released a new update for their top-down battle royale game, Blast Royale.
The new update comes with a host of new features. There’s now a new game mode rotation system and with it, the return of the Deathmatch mode. Players can now choose to play various different game modes using mutators. There are 3 mutators at the time of writing: SpeedUp, HealthyAir and QuickSpecials. The first one bumps up the movement speed by 40% while the second one heals everyone by 50 HP for every 5 seconds and the last one reduces the cooldown time for specials from 30 seconds to 10 seconds.
A leaderboard screen can now be found in the main menu, showing the players with the highest amount of trophies which can be earned by winning ranked matches. Speaking of ranked, the developers have decided to lower “the requirement of players for “Ranked” match from 20 to 10.”
Is someone ruining your custom game? No worries, as room hosts now have a new option available that allows them to kick players from the lobby during the matchmaking screen.
Equipment items now have two new stats: Attack Range and Pickup Speed. Various balancing changes have also been made to weapons, crates and more.

An early access version of Blast Royale is currently available to whitelisted players, while a beta launch is scheduled for Q3 this year, followed by a public release in Q4 this same year, the same quarter in which the Polygon-based play-and-earn title will also become free to play. Back in April this year, the developers raised $5 million in a seed round co-led by Animoca Brands and Mechanism Capital.
