It is a free-to-play, play-and-earn battle royale where 30 players battle it out using equipment obtained for free or equipment in the form of NFTs in top-down gameplay. The winner, as well as the top 5 surviving in a match, earns Blast tokens ($BLST), an ERC-20 cryptocurrency that will be used for crafting items as well as buying and selling equipment. Holders can also gain early access to new features, take part in governance votes, as well as have special access to various NFT drops.
Neil McFarland, CEO of First Light Games, said:
“We are thrilled to have such strong backing from some of the most influential investors in blockchain gaming. All of our partners share our vision for making Blast Royale one of the best gaming titles, providing compelling, fun gameplay and creating a Battle Royale game suitable for the Web3 generation.”
