The developers of BLOCKLORDS, a blockchain grand strategy game, have announced that their Web3 title has officially soft launched on the Epic Games Store, free for anyone to download and play on Windows PCs.
What is BLOCKLORDS?
BLOCKLORDS is a MMO blockchain grand strategy game set in a medieval setting in which players can take on various playstyles while expanding across a large world map. Featuring player-driven gameplay, you start off as a Farmer character, one of the available types of Heroes in the game, and work your way to gathering resources and setting up customizable farms while forming a family and shaping your lineage. Next to the Farmer, some of the other Heroes that players can be include Rulers, Hunters, Warriors, and so on, with each Hero featuring unique stats and traits that affect playstyles. As you make various choices your stats and traits change accordingly.
There is loads of strategic gameplay at hand here, as you can grow into a powerful kingdoms, defend territories from raiders, face dangerous beasts, collect taxes, claim regions, and more. How you approach the game is up to you.
The game is made by MetaKing Studios, who previously managed to get an official page for BLOCKLORDS on the Epic Games Store ahead of its soft launch. Last year, MetaKing Studios secured $15 million for the development of this blockchain title.

This is currently an early access release, and as such likely has some bugs and a couple of missing features, with the store page mentioning that the full release is set to include “a progression system, an in-game store, dynasty systems, turf wars, both PVE and PVP modes, quests, challenges, enhanced social interactions, voice chat, and an adventure mode.” By playing it now, you can help the developers by providing constructing feedback during the game’s early seasons in an effort for the studio to be able to make a balanced and enjoyable experience. The time for the start of Season 1 does not seem to have been announced yet at the time of writing, with a tweet from the game’s official Twitter/X profile mentioning that battles are coming to the first season, alongside various other updates.
