Chainmonsters Gives Sneak Peek of UI in Latest Weekly Dev Update
The Chainmonsters team gave a sneak peek of the game’s UI, showing elemental animations from the Battle HUD in action in their first weekly dev update post since the change from the monthly format.

Developer B-Side Games has released their first weekly dev update of the year for their free-to-play monster-taming MMORPG, Chainmonsters.
In this community newsletter, the team gave a “little” sneak peek of the game’s UI, wanting specifically to share the work done on the Battle HUD so far. The team has been working on improving the effects present in this user interface by adding some animated visuals, which include elemental animations that make it easier to understand what effect a Chainmon is being affected by. An example of a Pyro animation can be seen in the image down below.
More examples can be found in GIF form over at this official developer post, in which they also mention the concerns raised by players that the TestFlight version will soon expire, stating that they will make sure the TestFlight is “refreshed and up and running so you can continue to play the game!”
This represents the company’s first weekly dev update, having previously published these posts in a monthly format. The change to a weekly newsletter was announced in the December dev update post last month, with the team stating that the reason for the switch is because they figured that the way the monthly schedule worked felt as if it “might be too long of a pause between each update” hence the transition to this new format.
