Chicken Derby to launch Seasons in its Gameplay
Chicken Derby expands their Chicken racing game by introducing Seasons. These 'Seasons' provide unique badges to the top finishers.
Seasons will help minimize the number of people abusing the system by racing high-performing Chickens in lower Pecking Orders.
Further, Chicken Derby intends to revise its leaderboard computations with the inclusion of Seasons, beginning on December 19th.
The P2E game has five unique groups of races: Chick, as well as Pecking Orders D, C, B, A, and S, with S being the most difficult competition. According to the team, Chick, a special Pecking Order is only available to Chickens that have raced less than five times in total.
Chickens freely move between the Pecking Orders in the current ranking scheme depending on their finishing place in races. As a result, many players have taken advantage of the system by purposely de-ranking their Chickens with lesser-cost races to join higher-cost races at lower rankings.
Purpose of Introducing Seasons of the Chicken Derby
Chicken Derby is implementing Seasons to address the issue mentioned above. Every Chicken's POP (Pecking Order Points) is set to 100 at the start of each Season. Given that, Chickens earn or lose POP, depending on their finishing place after each race. In addition, points might vary between +5 and -5 points.
The top 20% of each Pecking Order then earn a special Season badge and advance up a Pecking Order after the Season. The lowest 20% are pushed down the Pecking Order. Then, the POP of all Chickens is reset to 100 as the new Season starts. Furthermore, the first five Seasons will only last two weeks, allowing the teams to make tweaks and adjustments as required. Overall, Seasons will continue for a month, beginning in March 2023.
Lastly, Chicken Derby intends to create a new "Christmas Cracker" tournament. This event starts on December 19th at 6 pm CST and lasts two weeks. Chickens gain points depending on their finishing position in each race conducted throughout the tournament. After two weeks, the top ten chickens in each Pecking Order earn special prizes such as Fusion Serums and Santa outfits.
