Chris Akhavan Becomes Chief Gaming Officer at Magic Eden
Akhavan is sure the company will drive the inclusion of Web2 gamers into Web3.

Magic Eden has appointed Chris Akhavan, a veteran in the gaming industry, as its first gaming officer. He joined Magic Eden from Forte, a blockchain gaming platform where he was a chief business officer. In addition, he is a member of Game7, a $500 million Web3 Decentralized Autonomous Organization, and gaming fund, where he serves as an advisor. In his role at Magic Eden, he will drive the growth of Magic Eden’s gaming partnerships and strengthen the development of game creator and collector experiences on the platform.
Before entering the Web3 space, he served in various capacities across the Web3 industry. He was the chief revenue officer at Glu Mobile. He was responsible for turning the struggling company with a $240 million market cap in the pre-smartphone mobile games into a top modern mobile free-to-play studio that Electronic Arts took for $4.2 billion. After the acquisition, he became the VP of EA mobile.
Before his service in Glu, he was an employee of the 10-person team at Tapjoy, where he developed a prestigious advertising and monetization platform for free-to-play games and expanded the business to more than 300 employees globally with more than $120 million in revenue.
Magic Eden will drive Web3 Inclusion
In an interview, Akhavan said,
“We’re going to build products on Magic Eden that will give gamers reasons to visit us every day to discover games, get rewarded for playing them, and interact with vibrant communities of passionate gamers. We’re also going to build products to help game studios to reach gamers and significantly grow their revenue by accessing valuable Web3 markets.”
Akhavan is convinced the company will be able to get Web2 gamers into Web3 by providing seamless connections to the games that they love and play every day.
