Cosmic Champs Releases New Battle Arena, New Bots & More in October Update
The beta version of Cosmic Champs now includes a new battle arena, new bots (advanced PVE bot & prize bot), a fireball spell, and all Hammer NFT skins.
The developers of Cosmic Champs, a 3D play-and-earn NFT mobile game on Algorand, have released a new October update in which they’ve introduced a new battle arena, new bots, a fireball spell, and all Hammer NFT skins to the beta version of the blockchain title.
New Battle Arena
Players can now dive into a new battle arena, which is set in a rainforest and can be seen in the above main image. With paths set up somewhat differently from the original arena, you might be able to set up some new strategies to outsmart your opponents. As every battle arena is actually a new planet, The Cosmic DAO has launched a planet naming contest on Twitter/X, for which you have until October 20th to enter by adhering to the requirements in the official thread.
The developers have introduced an advanced PVE bot for players who have a rating of over 1300. This bot includes a “full deck of legendary NFTs” so it won’t be easy beating this one as the one intended for new players. The team has clarified in the update post that players without any NFTs don’t have to worry, as “superior strategy will usually prevail.” If a player of over 1300 rating does not get matched with another player in less than a minute, then this new bot will come into play.
Next to the advanced PVE bot, the developers have also added in a Prize bot that rewards tokens if defeated. You can get randomly matched up with this bot if you have at least 1300 rating. This remains an experimental feature for now, so the team has put a prize pool of 1000 ALGO up for grabs until the end of this month to eligible players, with the team claiming that you should make sure “you have opted into COSG (ASA 1065092715) at the time of distribution or you’ll forfeit any earned rewards.”
The beta now includes a new fireball spell, which you can send anywhere on the arena with a single card to unleash a single fireball dealing damage to all ground and air units in a certain radius. Your opponent’s base can be damaged with this spell as well.
Hammer NFT Skins
The developers have announced that the beta now includes all Hammer NFT skins, so if you own any of them, you can now actually use them in the game. It’s also noted that the complete set of NFT skins for Cybi and Coyote are now also playable, and the team will continue to keep “hammering away until all the Champ NFT skins are added to the game.”
