Cyberpunk Racing Game Night Run Launches on Steam in Open Beta
The open beta of the cyberpunk-themed motorcycle racing game Night Run can now be accessed on Steam for free ahead of the game’s official July 31st release date. Players can enjoy thousands of generative art while trying to get a high score by driving fast through an endless, procedurally-generated city.
Matto & Thousand Ant have announced that the cyberpunk racing game that is part of the experimental artwork project, Night Run, has been released on Steam in open beta, allowing everyone who requests access the opportunity to download and play for free on Windows and Mac.
In this game, players get to race through an endless, procedurally-generated city using a motorcycle in first-person view. The futuristic city you get to drive through takes place in night time and is full of generative art. According to the description on the game's official store page on Steam, there are thousands of unique generative artwork that players can see as they drive by billboards and sculptures, with the city featuring 2048 procedurally-generated routes to go through.
As you race for a high score, you get to listen to 30 underground house and techno tracks made by “respected DJs and producers,” with the Steam page stating that more info on that part will be revealed soon. In terms of gameplay, the goal is to try and rank high on the online leaderboards across random, seeded and daily run game modes by riding fast to multiply your score, unlocking achievements in the process while enjoying the art and music that accompanies this cyberpunk experience.
