The Japanese game creator, best known for developing Tecmo's Dead or Alive series and reviving the Ninja Gaiden franchise, announced last year that he will be returning to game production with a new studio.
Tomonobu Itagaki recently revealed his new firm, Apex Game Studios, which is currently 'incubating' Warrior, an NFT-focused MMORPG for mobile and PC.

According to Itagaki's Twitter post on Tuesday, the firm, which already has over 100 Japanese and Singaporean employees, will specialize in developing high-quality and immersive Web3.0 games. Itagaki will attempt to harness not only NFTs within games but also the metaverse and its associated advances (such as Smart Terminal technologies like AR and VR devices).
Warrior, Apex Game Studios' first project, is an MMORPG built on Unreal Engine that will be released in Q1 of next year. Unfortunately, details are still scarce at this time, with the official website focusing on the NFT economy at the core of Warrior.
Apex Game Studios talked about the game as follows :
“The Warrior Project is about to make its initial decentralized exchange offering, or IDO, and release the first Alpha version, and a series of Giveaway events are ongoing in the communities,”
The team also unveiled a thorough roadmap for Warrior in which they discussed the gradual introduction of PVE and PVP gameplay in 2023 Q2 in order to enhance gameplay, token circulation, and token empowerment. Furthermore, the game studio will refine gameplay in the third and fourth quarters of 2023 to turn Warrior into a high-quality GameFi 2.0 project that is both enjoyable and investment-oriented with competitive and long-term operation capabilities.
