Decentraland Introduces a new "Set Home" function
The pioneering open world platform, Decentraland, has added an useful new 'Set Home' option to its platform. Given that, visitors to the virtual location can now create their own user-specific spawn coordinates and arrive in style at their desired location.
In the future, brave metaverse explorers may roam the continents in search of a location that speaks to their spirit. Then, using the easy UI, they may choose that area as their preferred Decentraland destination. It may be a virtual casino, a peaceful meadow, or a wild party setting.
To use this new feature, visitors navigate to their desired location. Then, in the top left corner, select the drop-down menu just beneath the map. Lastly, they can simply enable the 'Set Home' option to activate the new spawn location.
However, the new 'Set Home' function will only be available at the consumer or browser level. This implies that Decentraland will not import the stored home data when switching devices or apps. As a result, the platform's visitors will largely have to create a new spawn level for each one.
Decentraland is a virtual reality(VR) in which the MANA token (an ERC-20 token) is utilised as the platform's native currency. Members of the Decentraland community may spend MANA to purchase LAND, a virtual piece of land inside the Decentraland VR platform.
What distinguishes Decentraland is that it is controlled and owned by its users rather than by a central server. Instead, all data is hosted on nodes, which are distributed throughout the globe on different computers, making it decentralised. This implies it cannot be shut down and will remain perpetually on the blockchain.
