Decentraland Launches Beta Version of SDK 7
The SDK will serve as an open protocol for creating Metaverse content.

SDK 7 Beta is Here
Decentraland has launched the beta version of its new software development kit (SDK) 7. This launch came in after months of anticipation. The kit has now been made publicly available for anyone to use and build upon, advancing Metaverse development.
The Software Development kit contains newly improved features such as access to the latest version of TypeScript, expanded external library compatibility, improved performance, a new User Interface, and so much more. In addition, the kit was created with three principles in mind. They include usability, performance, and portability. However, the team has stated that this is not the final product, as many improvements would still be made to the kit.
Furthermore, Decentraland aims to pave the way for creating a powerful editor that will enable creators to work with visual interfaces and code simultaneously. In addition, SDK 7 coincided with the release of the first versions of Decentraland Editor. This is a tool that helps to streamline and simplify the process of scene development.
Decentraland Plans to Build on SDK 7 Foundations
Decentraland has also decided to build the next version of its editor on the foundations set by SDK 7. This will enable the seamless creation of various alternative projects in the Decentraland ecosystem, thereby impacting the performance of the ecosystem positively and further paving the way for more robust and streamlined multiplayer functionality.
The new features added to the beta version of the software development kit 7 include a new user interface system based on FlexBox, better performance due to an optimized flow of internal messages and the UI system, the latest version of TypeScript, and access to more external JavaScript and TypeScript libraries.
