Decentraland Launches Community Emote Contest with 20K $MANA in Prizes
Creators have until September 5th at 7 AM UTC to submit their entry for the Decentraland Community Emote Contest, featuring a 20K $MANA prize pool allocated to the top 10 places and to the winner of the Community Choice Award.
Decentraland has announced a community-based Emote Contest with 20K $MANA in prizes, with submissions open until September 5th at 7 AM UTC.
Interested creators can participate by filling in the form linked in the tweet down below. In order to participate, it seems you’ll have to pay an entry fee of $150, however, you might be able to get a maximum $120 refund after the winners are announced. While it is possible to enter the contest multiple times, only your first submission “is eligible for the $120 USD publishing fee discount.”
Entering the contest also requires having the Emote already approved and published in the DCL marketplace in order to apply, so if it’s published by the contest deadline, you should be qualified to participate. The Emotes getting submitted must be community-related and, if you end up having multiple submissions in the top 10, it seems you’ll only be able to claim one prize in places 1st to 10th. If you have a submission in the top 10 and a submission winning the Community Choice Award, then you can claim prizes from both categories.
Winning this contest is rewarded with 5000 $MANA, while places 2nd to 10th are awarded 1500 $MANA each, and 1500 $MANA will be given to the winner of the Community Choice Award. The judges will rate submissions based on fluidity, movement quality of the Emote, uniqueness, “WOW & FUN Factor,” and how well it represents the theme of “Community.”
