Defimons Reveals December Development Update
The December development update for Defimons provides details on the new overworld, battle system, mini-games and more.

Mon Studios has recently shared the December development update for Defimons, a monster-catching MMORPG.
In this final dev update for 2022, the team talks about the game’s overworld, battle system, mini-games and smart contract development, while also sharing what’s next in store for the interoperable blockchain title.
The new overworld is almost ready to launch, with the developers now adding the finishing touches to the 2D map in order to ensure a polished experience, improving the collision system and loading times while working on night mode, the shortcuts menu and more.
As for the battle system, the art team has managed to finish the visuals and SFX for more than 50 different attacks, and more are still in the works. The developers also revealed that they are examining over 80 different monster designs in order to decide which ones are the best to go with.
When it comes to mini-games, the team has revealed that Pandoro Run has been played more than 24k times, with over 600 hours spent by players enjoying this “very small part of Defimons.” As work on this mini-game has concluded, the dev team has now moved on to creating the 3rd mini-game that is titled as “Dungeon Point”.
The developers responsible for smart contract development have now successfully finished coding contracts for the token, ICO, DEX and more, with the studio stating that they are “seeing tremendous progress on this end” and that they are “excited to explore ways of using blockchain technology in ways that improves the user experience for the players.”
As for what’s in store ahead, the company is planning on deploying the “most important elements of our game in Q1-Q2 2023” while looking into “exploring expansion of our IP in the following quarters via world expansions to multiple chains, community built games on MON subnet, goodies such as plushies, merch for our holders and so much more.”
The official update post can be found here, where you can also see a part of the new overworld, as well as the battle system in action.
