Digital Hollywood x The Sandbox partnership: What you need to know
Digital Hollywood, a school that specializes in IT and digital content in Japan is joining forces with The Sandbox to speed up the creator economy. To honor the new collab, The Sandbox will hold a free seminar in Japan on July 9th. Then, starting from September 2022, Digital Hollywood Studios will offer new courses to train game makers and voxel artists to create content on The Sandbox.
To explain further, the free seminar titled “The Sandbox’s First Steps in the Creator Economy” will feature Sebastian Borget, COO of The Sandbox, and six other speakers. In essence, they will introduce attendees to The Sandbox Creator Fund and its prospects for the Japanese community. Besides that, there will be demos on game creation using 3D characters as well. Nonetheless, the session will be in Japanese, set to take place on July 9th at the Digital Hollywood Tokyo Campus.
On the other hand, Digital Hollywood will jointly develop a new course to train game makers and voxel artists to create on The Sandbox. As mentioned, this course will be offered in all Digital Hollywood Studios starting from September this year. But that's not all. By the end of the course, students will take part in a competition where winners will get to join The Sandbox Creator Fund.
Education makes a difference
Given that Japan is the 3rd largest gaming market in the world, the collab between Digital Hollywood and The Sandbox is set to boost the creator economy. By training more talents to build in the metaverse, more creators will become skillful enough to earn in Web3.
"We are confident that through this collaboration with The Sandbox and the jointly held courses, creators who earn money from digital content while moving back and forth between reality and the metaverse will emerge as an important part of a new digital society," said Digital Hollywood President Tomoyuki Sugiyama.
“At Digital Hollywood STUDIO, we have been teaching the creative skills necessary to live one’s own life, and I am happy to see that many of our graduates are leading lives that are uniquely their own. In the future, we will need more skills to work in the metaverse from anywhere in the world.”
