Elon Musk's Gaming Venture Transforms X into a Multi-Purpose Platform
Elon Musk's surprising entry into video game streaming on X (formerly Twitter) has set the stage for a multi-faceted transformation of the platform.

Tech magnate Elon Musk has made an unexpected move by diving into the world of video game streaming. In a live broadcast on X, the rebranded Twitter platform now known as X, Musk displayed his gaming prowess by playing the popular online action role-playing game Diablo 4.
Musk's Maiden Live Stream
The 50-minute live stream, which took place on October 6, featured Musk's desire to maintain high-quality audio and visual experiences for viewers while ensuring smooth interaction through comments. While it's still in its early stages, Musk seemed content with the progress achieved by the platform's developers.
Close to the stream's end, Elon Musk commented on questions that were addressed to him. He said,
"We will add in streaming for Xbox and PS5. You know we're not trying to do everything better than every other app, but we wanna say that, okay, if you wanna do something within the X system or the X platform, you can do it if you want."
“I think the very specialist apps are still gonna be probably better than us in a lot of ways, but you know, I think we can be the best generalist app. There’s some value to being a generalist app for, I guess, discovery and for interacting with the largest number of people in the world.”
However, He remained tight-lipped about plans to incorporate payments or cryptocurrency for subscriptions and donations.
X Will Become The 'Everything' App
At the time of writing, the stream, or "broadcast," attracted a whopping 2.8 million viewers within just a few hours of the session's conclusion. A tweet spotlighting the stream racked up an astounding 9.3 million views and received over 5,300 retweets.
This move is part of X's evolution into an "everything app." Since its rebranding from Twitter to X in July, the platform has been reshaping itself as a versatile digital hub. X has introduced several innovative features, such as a revenue-sharing model for X Premium subscribers and the ability for users to post videos and content on the platform directly.
