FC Barcelona Partners with Plastiks NFT Marketplace to Launch Sustainable Collection: “Unleash Your Passion”
In partnership with Plastiks, FC Barcelona has launched “Unleash Your Passion” an eco-friendly NFT collection where every bought collectible leads to the recovery of plastic waste. NFT owners have a chance of winning an official FC Barcelona T-shirt signed by the players, with more rewards to be potentially given in the future.
This season’s La Liga winners FC Barcelona have partnered up with NFT marketplace Plastiks in order to launch “Unleash Your Passion,” a sustainable NFT collection where every asset recovers plastic, thus contributing to a healthier environment by owning a collectible from this new collection.
The launch of this collection from the Spanish footballing giant supposedly marks one of the world’s first sustainable collections to be released as plastic gets recovered from the environment for every NFT bought from this collection. For the club though, it is the first time they have combined art and plastic recovery to create such a collection. This however isn’t the only good thing about holding such an environmentally-thoughtful digital card, as, aside from trading it, various rewards may be in store for owners in the future. At the time of writing, a lottery is set to take place on June 22nd, which you can enter using tickets that you get 1 or 2 of when purchasing a card from this collection. Using these tickets, you can enter a lottery for a chance at winning an official signed FC Barcelona T-shirt. It’s not specified who it is signed by, with the official page stating that it is signed by “the players of 2023 Spanish League” so it might mean the whole team.

The cards in the collection are ERC-1155 tokens on the Celo blockchain and resemble various different animals, such as whales, turtles, monkeys and more, with each card recovering a certain amount of kilograms of plastic waste, while prices generally seem to range from $20 to $30. The ones that cost $20 give you one ticket, while the $30 cards give you two.
