Meet Solitarius Lupus: A narrative film based on the lore-rich video game, Shrapnel

Shrapnel, an upcoming AAA first-person shooter on Avalanche, has taken a step further to expand its narrative by releasing a live-action short film in partnership with Seattle-based studio, All Is Well. Titled Solitarius Lupus, this narrative short film tells the story of an independent Operator who fights for survival and great rewards in the Sacrifice Zone.

To those new to this game, Shrapnel is a highly-anticipated first-person extraction shooter created by an Emmy Award-winning team. The game is set in a not-too-distant future where a massive asteroid called 38 Sigma collided with the moon, causing lunar meteorites to be scattered across a 500 km-wide band around the Earth. This zone, later known as the Sacrifice Zone, is walled off from the rest of the world.

However, rumors started to swirl that a mysterious material called Compound Sigma, found in the asteroid fragments of Shrapnel, was able to manifest quantum mechanics in the classical physics realm. This led to nations and corporations assembling their own Mercenary Extraction Forces, or MEFs, to venture into The Zone. Since then, there has been no end to the bloody war to fight for control over Shrapnel.

In this game, you will play as a MEF Operator, one of the deadly mercenaries in search of Shrapnel. There will be various missions on the list where you must find certain types of loot while trying to get out of the area alive. With each NFT you obtain, you'll be able to craft better gear and customize your weapon loadouts. You can also build maps, weapons, and vanity items using different tools in the game at launch.

There are no dates available yet for Shrapnel's early access or official release. However, it's worth noting that NFT Operator holders will be the first to access the game once it's ready.
