What you need to know about Captain Tsubasa: Rivals' official launch
Captain Tsubasa: Rivals, a new blockchain game inspired by the football manga "Captain Tsubasa," is launching on January 12th, 2023. The release was initially delayed for bug fixes and improvements. But now, fans won't have to wait too long to play with their favorite IPs and characters.
Developed by Thirdverse Group and BLOCKSMITH&Co., Captain Tsubasa: Rivals is a play-and-earn NFT game that runs on Polygon. Here, you will be able to train characters from the original manga Captain Tsubasa and compete against other players. In Rival Mode, you can play against rival characters and reproduce the original story, while in PvP Mode, you will play against other gamers online.

To get started, players must own at least one Player NFT card. Each card will feature a Captain Tsubasa character with unique characteristics and attributes. According to the team, the basic cycle of this game is to collect Rival Pieces in PvE mode, then fight for each others' Pieces in PvP mode. Once players have gathered 6 Pieces of the same type, they can join them to form a complete Rival Card. This Rival Card will allow players to further challenge the Gacha draw for extra rewards.
A dual-token model is applicable in the Captain Tsubasa: Rivals economy, in which $TSUBASAUT is the utility token, and $TSUBASAGT is the governance token. $TSUBASAUT can be earned as a gameplay reward by winning Rival Mode matches and can be used to enhance Player NFT cards. Once users have more than 2 NFT cards, they can generate a new one through the "Player Mint" process.
As of now, it's unclear whether the early version in January will contain both game modes or which platform the game will be available on. The team has promised to unveil more details as the official launch gets closer.
