Forest Knight Releases Updated Roadmap for 2023
The new Forest Knight roadmap for 2023 includes new features, new versions of existing systems, a timeframe for releasing the iOS version of the free-to-play turn-based strategy title, and more.
The Forest Knight team has released a new roadmap for 2023, showing us what they have in store for the free-to-play turn-based game in the months ahead.
For this year, developer Chrono Games plans to improve various existing systems in order to add further depth to them as they were released “in a very primitive form” due to the team having a “huge Refactoring time for the code and visuals.” This means that, next to improving the UI and UX, features such as Missions, Guilds, Boss and Battle logics will be getting an upgrade. A new version of Guilds is scheduled to come out in the first quarter of this year, while a 3rd new version is planned for Q2 2023.
According to their Medium post, another focus for the company in the months ahead will also be to put more focus on the PvE side of the Polygon-based title, while keeping “the social aspect” of it in mind. This means that we might see the introduction of co-op battles, leaderboards for various features, and more.
The studio has also teased that they plan to bring various tools to the table that will open up room for user-generated content, thus further expanding the game’s ecosystem while allowing creators who make use of these tools to monetize what they develop. According to the roadmap, these tools for user-generated content are planned for Q3 2023, though the team has stated that this is all “still very early and we will continue providing more information in the coming months.”
As for new features, the team plans to add in a new skill system in the first quarter, followed by a talent system in the second quarter of the year, all of which will add further depth and customization to heroes and hero abilities.
