Futureverse and Outlier Ventures Announce Base Camp Accelerator Program
In collaboration with Outlier Ventures, applications for the Futureverse Base Camp Accelerator are now open until early December 2023, with the program aiming to support metaverse startups building on The Root Network.
Outlier Ventures and Futureverse have teamed up to launch the Base Camp accelerator program in an effort to support metaverse and AI startups.
The program is particularly aimed at helping out early-stage companies building projects on The Root Network, which is a decentralized blockchain network designed specifically for creating metaverse experiences and apps. Teams that get accepted into this 12-week virtual program will receive $100k in funding alongside mentorship and education, including support in token design, marketing, fundraising, and more.
Startups developing metaverse-based apps, games or experiences on The Root Network have until early December this year to apply, after which the program will start for accepted teams in the middle of January next year.
While the number of startups they’re looking to accept into the program doesn’t seem to be stated, what is however known is that the $100k stipend that each startup will be given is made possible by Born Ready, a new $50 million venture fund launched by the cofounders of Futureverse, Aaron McDonald and Shara Senderoff, who revealed in an interview with GamesBeat that Born Ready will be providing the financing for the startups accepted into the program. Next to offering up to $100k stipend, the official page reveals that teams may also be subject for up to $200k in follow-up investment.
The CEO of Outlier Ventures, Jamie Burke, said the following in a statement, as reported by GamesBeat:
