Gala Games Partners with Rep to Bring Web3 Social Network to GalaChain
Gala Games has formed a partnership with Rep, a Web3 social network, to bring the platform over to GalaChain. A Rep Node license sale is planned to take place in the coming weeks.
Gala Games has announced a partnership with blockchain-based social network Rep in order to bring the Web3 platform soon to GalaChain.
Through the integration of this social network to GalaChain, the company aims to show the “remarkable” potential of their chain while expanding their ecosystem to a larger audience and bringing in “cutting edge” social features that enhance the overall experience.
Rep takes on a user-focused approach that fully respects the user’s data privacy, as the core ethos of the platform is to “put control back into the hands of the users,” allowing users to own and have control over their data, which is in stark contrast to the traditional social media platforms of today.
According to the announcement, a prototype of the platform, featuring geolocation and AR features, has already been built on the NEAR network. The plan for the months ahead is to move the platform over to GalaChain, where it will be hosted by “a network of Rep Nodes” and thus be completely integrated into Gala’s ecosystem.
The company has also clarified that development and management of this project “are entirely in the hands of an extraordinary third-party team,” meaning that Gala does not have to allocate any resources to the new platform, “we barely have to spend any time grinding it,” the announcement reads, allowing them to continue fully focusing on games that will be backed by the social aspect of Rep, as according to Gala Games, the “best games you’ve ever played will always have an integral social component,” making it crucial to bring a social media platform to GalaChain.
“This platform will enhance your experience as a Gala Games player in countless ways, with no ongoing resources needed from the Gala Games team. This is where the GalaChain infrastructure we have worked so hard to build gets a chance to show the world what it can do.”
By using Rep, users will have a chance at earning rewards through referrals, Node operation, and simply by interacting with the platform.

A Node license sale for Rep is set to place in the near future, with more details set to be revealed in the upcoming episode of “Ahead of the Game with BitBender,” scheduled to take place live on July 13 at 4 PM PT.
