Genopets Crafting Is Now Live
Players who own Habitats can now use 3 types of crafting: Alchemy, Refinement and Terraformation.
The crafting feature for Genopets, a move-to-earn game on the Solana network, is now officially live.
Released on December 8 at 10 PM UTC, crafting is described as being the "ultimate utility" for Habitats, allowing players to use the Habitat's workshop to craft sellable items. Some of the things that can be done include creating Augments, refining Crystals, terraform new Habitats and more, thus opening “one of the primary utilities” for KI, GENE and Crystals.
The cost of crafting will initially be lower in order to give the community the opportunity to discuss the pricing before raising it.
There are 3 types of crafting: Alchemy, Refinement and Terraformation.
Alchemy involves using a mix of any kind of Refined Crystals together with ingredients such as KI or GENE to create tradable items like power-ups and Augments. Some basic recipes are available for starters, while more complex ones will have to be acquired either through in-game challenges or “as part of seasonal launches.”
Refinement is about using the Habitat’s Refinery to turn an Unrefined Genotype Crystal into a Refined Genotype Crystal. Unrefined Crystals spawn in Habitats every day, but if they don’t get refined, they’ll be gone. 10 KI is needed per crystal in order to commence the process.
Terraformation lets players mint new Habitats if they already own a Habitat. Those who are renting will not be able to use this feature. This process requires 1 Terraform Seed, 3 Refined Crystals of a certain elemental type, a Habitat Laboratory, 5 GENE and some KI. The number of KI needed depends on the Terraform Seed’s Grade.
