Genopets Users Now Require Google Fit in Latest Updates
The partnership will help to resolve lingering issues on Android devices.
Details of Genopets Update
Genopets is one of the web3 apps to gain attention from a mainstream company. The team has just released an update which requires the installation of Google Fits. Genopets has been working on getting approval for integration with Google Fits long before they started their beta. This effort has come to fruition as the team has obtained permission to integrate with Google fit to provide a more accurate step counter for Android users.
Being accepted by Google fit, one of the biggest fitness apps is a big win for the team. However, there have been ongoing issues with Genopets properly counting steps on android devices. They plan to use the step counter from Google Fit for their calculations after being linked to Google Fit.
The team has also introduced Pet petting in this recent update. Players can pet their Genopet by swiping two fingers across the screen. There is an associated sound and animation in response to the petting, but it does not affect the game. In addition, Genopets plan to include a pet maintenance feature, enabling players to tend to their pets regularly to keep them happy.
Genopets is a free-to-play, move-to-earn game built on the Solana blockchain. Players collect steps from walking while using the Genopets app. They convert these steps into energy and then into KI tokens. These KI tokens are the main currency in Genopets and are useful in crafting crystals and any game feature.
The team has continued to release new information about Pet Augmentation. These Augments are a physical change to the Genopet and a stat bonus. Augments come from antennae, horns and other bodily body parts. In addition, they provide a multiplier to the Pet’s base stat and also offer a skill. Genopets do not have a release date yet for Augmentations, but they have an ongoing Treasure hunt with Augmentations as rewards.
