Gods Unchained Is Adding Immutable Passport in December
Immutable Passport is getting integrated into Gods Unchained in early December, acting as a new login system that lets players sign in using Google, Apple, or email, with wallet creation set to be introduced later on in the future.
Well-known blockchain trading card game Gods Unchained is getting a new sign-in method in the form of Immutable Passport in early December.
What Is Immutable Passport?
Immutable Passport is a non-custodial Web3 wallet that uses traditional log-in methods to create a familiar onboarding experience for Web2 gamers. It acts like a “universal gamer profile, a secure identity” through which you can access every game and marketplace that runs on Immutable.
By integrating Immutable Passport into Gods Unchained, players will get to use its account and authentication functionality, while the wallet aspect will make its way at some point later on in the future.
It will act as a new sign-in method for the game, making it possible for new players to create an account using Google, Apple, or email address. This draws the game closer to traditional titles, making the onboarding experience for those not into crypto simpler. It also enables passwordless sign in, simplifying the login process without the need for a reCAPTCHA either.
This means that once this gets implemented, when you log in for the first time, you will be sent a one-time password as verification. Your collection or in-game data will not be affected by this change, with the announcement stating that migration is happening on their backend, meaning you only simply have to sign in to continue enjoying the strategic card game.
This system will be rolling out in early December this 2023, featuring the benefits previously mentioned. In the future, additional benefits will make their way in the form of wallet integration, which will allow new players to enjoy the game with automatic wallet creation and fewer confirmations, creating a new and improved onboarding user experience. Next to that, this will also make it easier to move from one game to the next on the Immutable network, as all your assets will remain with you on the same account.
The announcement states that existing players who choose not to migrate to Immutable Passport have until November 30th to delete their account using the CS ‘Delete Account’ service. The current login system will not be supported once Immutable Passport is added in, meaning the only way to access the game will be through the new system.
By being an early adopter of Immutable Passport, that is, by logging in during the first week of migration, players will be rewarded with an exclusive Passport Cardback, that you can see in the image below.
