Guild of Guardians, a blockchain-based mobile RPG, has unveiled impressive stats from its Friends & Family demo, leaving eager fans in excitement. Chris Clay, VP of Game Design, shared these insights in an official announcement.
Friends & Family, which followed the Beautiful Corner demo, marked a significant milestone in GoG's development. With 555 invited participants, including community members, internal Immutables, friends, family, and partners, the week-long test saw gamers collectively investing 1.12 years of playtime.
One standout achievement was the exceptional player retention, with an impressive Day 1 retention rate of 65.85% and a remarkable Day 7 rate of 43.38%.
The demo was also praised for its smooth mechanics, engaging progression loop, daily rewards, and competitive leaderboard. The game's visual appeal, including captivating dungeons and character animations, garnered accolades from testers. Strategic elements such as hero combinations and dungeon challenges added depth and excitement for eager fans.
However, the feedback also highlighted areas for improvement. These include tutorial levels, technical issues on various devices, UI/UX challenges, and battery consumption concerns. Players expressed a desire for greater depth and meaningful choices, highlighting the need for continuous development.
Encouragingly, over 86% of players expressed a strong intent to play consistently upon the official launch, demonstrating widespread anticipation and commitment.
In response to player feedback and a commitment to excellence, GoG adjusted its roadmap. The game will test-launch (Web2 only) in selected regions in Q1 2024, optimizing gameplay and gathering valuable data. The global launch, featuring Web3 features, is set for Q2 2024.
The dev team extends their gratitude to players for their feedback and support, aiming to shape Elderym's future in an unforgettable gaming adventure.
