MARS4 Releases the Mariner Patch Featuring the Click-Beetle, Better Performance & More
The Mariner Patch marks the launch of the Click-Beetle rover, improved performance for a better MARS4 experience, visual enhancements to skies and sunsets, and more.

The developers of MARS4 have officially released the Mariner Patch, bringing various new changes and improvements for a better player experience, with some additions including the debut of the Click-Bettle, enhanced PC performance, and more.
The Click-Beetle is described as being the oldest and newest rover to make its way to this planet’s surface, serving as a light vehicle for single-seated exploration. It’s also said in the patch notes that it was “the very first conceptualized rover” for their survival game and that it is useful both for travelling as well as for being used as a MMRTG (multi-mission radioisotope thermoelectric generator), making it helpful for starting a new colony due to being able to hold a bit of power.
Lighting and atmospheric design has been improved with the introduction of a Martian cloud layer alongside changes to the brightness at night and fog layer at a ground level, with a significant focus on making sure the atmosphere’s color is properly displayed during the time of day.
A large PC performance boost can be seen in the new update, achieved thanks to landscape optimization and other improvements, while various changes to the main menu and settings UI have been made in order to provide a more modern design.
