Megacube is set to return to Decentraland with Season 2
Megacube 2 will launch on May 6th in Decentraland, offering a unique type of play to earn experience and $500k worth of prizes.
Megacube 2 is a collaborative experience held in Decentraland where users have to discover what's inside the gigantic cube consisting of 100 layers. Players can only mine one layer at a time where each layer represents NFT projects and NFT artists from all over the world.
The first individual to successfully mine the last layer of the puzzle will take away a prize from every single of the 120+ sponsors participating in the event. Premium sponsors include Polygon, Boson, Protocol, Outer Ring and many more. Apart from this, prizes consisting of delectable NFTs are hidden at random locations within the cube. Players will also collect Cube Dust by mining, which they can use to buy Shards, wearables and POAPs.
Each player will be provided with a basic Megacube Drill to mine cubes. Additionally, Drills can be combined with Shards which are NFTs on Polygon. Sponsor’s Shards can be found in their respective booths and are only available during that Sponsor’s Layer. Players can exchange their Cube Dust in Megahall which is an entertainment area, composed of Sponsor booths, NFT galleries, VDJs sessions and much more.
Last year, Megacube 1 took two weeks to complete and consisted of fifty layers.

The MegaCube pushed me to learn about the importance of NFTs and how they will be beneficial in the future. I’ve shifted my focus from coin trading to a combo of both. I was laid off during covid, and now I haven’t had to find another job. The MegaCube had a huge impact on my life. I went from not knowing about NFTs to trading them daily for a living.
