Meta is Set to Unveil an Avatar Store where Users can Purchase Digital Clothing for their Avatars
Meta is launching an online store where users of Meta platforms can buy digital outfits for their avatars.

Meta is unveiling an avatar store where users of Meta platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger can buy digital designer clothes for their Avatars.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO, had this to say via a Facebook post:
“Digital goods will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy."
Brands and Clothing in the Avatar Store
The first set of bands on the avatar store features the likes of Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne. Meanwhile, the types of clothes include a motocross outfit, a logo hoodie, and suits. Meta CEO is confident that more brands will be added next week, and these stores will commence in Canada, Thailand, Mexico, and the United States.
How Can Users Access the Avatar Store?
As of the time of this report, information concerning how users can access the store is yet to be released. Also, Meta is yet to release any price list for these digital outfits, and enthusiasts can only hope that these digital clothes will cost less than the actual thing. In addition, it is pertinent to note that the free clothing options for Meta avatars will always be available at zero cost.
Following the new development, luxury fashion firms have started teaming up with technology companies to help them design their own branded digital outfits. In the previous year, Fortnite introduced Balenciaga skins so gamers could acquire dresses like branded hoodies for their in-game characters.
Meanwhile, the Director of fashion partnerships at Instagram, Eva Chen, did a preview of one look featuring a cropped T-shirt, low-rise jeans, and a white belt, outfitted on Zuckerberg’s avatar, after which he said: “I don’t know that I ever could have pulled that off."
