MetaFab Is Hosting a $10K 2D Shoot-Out Game Jam
The 2D Shoot-Out Game Jam tasks participants with creating a 2D shooter using MetaFab, a blockchain gaming API designed for simplified integration of blockchain technology into video games.
The team behind MetaFab, a blockchain gaming API, is hosting a 2D Shoot-Out Game Jam which features a prize pool of $10k that is split across the top 3 entries.
This game jam begun on January 6th and will end on January 23rd at 8:59 AM UTC+1. Those who are interested in joining the jam are tasked with creating a 2D shooter in any game engine while using the MetaFab developer tools that are designed for easily implementing blockchain infrastructure into games. Using this API, some of the things that participants can integrate with it include account creation, save states, in-game currencies for purchasing various items, items as NFTs and more, all of it blending seamlessly with the game, without the player needing to know anything about crypto.
There’s also an additional theme that you must stick to in order for you entry to be valid, and that theme is “Unique Bullets”. This means that, for example, you could have bullets with random effects, bullets that can heal or damage, bullets that follow the cursor and more. These are some of the ideas that the hosts mentioned, but they also said that it’s not necessary for all bullets to be unique, and that you can interpret the theme however you want.
The winner of this game jam will receive $7.5k, while 2nd place is awarded with $2.5k and 3rd place gets $500. These prizes are paid out in USD via PayPal.
