MetalCore reveals the Build Your Own Barony Challenge
Players must register their guilds before August 31, with the barony having at least 2 members and 50 Infantry NFTs, out of which there is at least 1 Legendary or 3 Epic Infantry NFTs.
Studio 369 has announced a Build Your Own Barony Challenge that is starting this week for their blockchain title MetalCore, an open-world mech FPS.
A Barony represents a player-owned in-game guild that allows players to play Faction Wars as well as PvE challenges together. The new event is meant to incentivize players to create their own guilds, with submissions set to close on August 31. Baronies that register before that date need at least 2 members, while up to 50 members per Barony are allowed for this challenge. The qualifying guild should also have at least 50 infantry NFTs, out of which there is either at least 1 Legendary Infantry NFT or 3 Epic Infantry NFTs. These Infantries do not have to be in the main guild wallet, but will also count even if they are in the wallets of the guild’s members.
The Baronies who end up successfully qualifying for the program will be rewarded with a 20% increase to the amount of Infantry NFTs the guild holds. That means that a guild that registers with 100 Infantry NFTs will end up getting 20 randomized Infantries of varying rarity.

The free-to-play title recently had its first NFT collection, 10k Infantry Genesis NFTs, released. Some new gameplay footage was shown in a tweet last month. An open-world alpha version is slated for release in late September this year.
