MetaStrike has launched a brand new tournament. Via a post, the gaming platform said the prize pool of the competition is $50k for the 16 top-tier teams that were invited, although there is an open qualifier for teams that are ready to join.
MetaStrike is a first-person shooting game that combines blockchain technology and Virtual Reality tools to provide players with a unique gaming experience. Through the use of NFTs, players can access, buy, upgrade, and customize weaponry and other collectibles within the game. The introduction of blockchain also brings DeFi functionalities, allowing players to earn rewards while playing and engaging with the game's ecosystem.
Features Of MetaStrike
MetaStrike offers both single-player and multiplayer modes. In single-player mode, players can enjoy Zombie Hunting and PvE battles. The multiplayer mode includes PvP battles, Clan wars, and Tournaments, reflecting the growing popularity of eSports. Tournaments can be played live or online, allowing players globally to participate and compete.
Players can earn rewards by progressing through the game stages, similar to traditional game models where coins, medals, and weapons are given as rewards. Additionally, players can use the Design Room, where they can design maps for fights and mint them as NFTs. The community then votes on the best maps, and the chosen map is added to MetaStrike's team mode. The designers of the chosen maps are rewarded for every usage of their created maps.
MetaStrike features a marketplace where players can trade the NFT assets they mint or acquire. This allows players to sell their NFTs or purchase NFTs created by others based on their needs. Upgrading of weapons is also possible, providing players with a wide range of fighting functionalities.
