Metastrike Open Alpha Summer Tournament announced
Teams of at least 5 players have until September 4 to register for a chance at competing in the last Open Alpha tournament of the free-to-play play-to-earn FPS.
The Open Alpha Summer Tournament for Metastrike, a free-to-earn FPS on the BNB Chain, was recently announced.
This represents the last tournament to be hosted during the open alpha, before the launch of the open beta. Registrations opened yesterday on August 22 and will close on September 4, after which the tournament will start somewhere between September 6 and September 12 and will last around 6-8 weeks. 8-12 teams will be picked to participate. A team must consist of at least 5 players. Compared to previously hosted events, this tournament will take place on the BNB Chain, and will feature 2 pro eSport teams from Vietnam. An event will take place that will introduce all the teams taking part in the tournament, and with that there will also be a prediction game featuring various prizes. All tournament matches will be livestreamed, while the final match will feature live commentary. 3 matches will be hosted every week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all at 9 AM UTC.
A maximum of 12 teams will get to participate in the tournament, divided into two groups in which the top two spots takes the best teams of both groups to the semi-final playoffs. Each match is a Bo5 (Best of 5) with teams switching sides every round throughout the Conquest game mode, where teams fight for control of 3 areas on the map to earn points, winning the round when reaching 300 points.
Throughout the tournament various mini-games will also be hosted in which players can win numerous rewards. The first one is the prediction game before the start of the tournament, in which players will be able to predict the winning team and MVP of the tournament. During the tournament players will get to predict match scores and earn airdrop vouchers by watching livestreams. After the tournament there will be a meme competition and more on the game’s official Discord server.
The team that wins the tournament will be rewarded with $1000 and 1 Silver Box, while second place gets $500 and 3 Uncommon Boxes. For full details, check out the official post found in one of the links in the tweet down below.
