Here's a first look at the latest Deadrop gameplay

Midnight Society, a blockchain gaming studio led by Dr. Disrespect, has released the latest Deadrop gameplay – Snapshot V.

Snapshots are in-development builds of Deadrop that are constantly released to the pre-alpha community. The 5th snapshot now includes a new location (Sector 3: Cold Storage), as well as new gameplay mechanics, upgraded weapons, and the ability to respawn in the game.

Deadrop, formerly known as Project Moon, is a vertical extraction shooter game set in a post-apocalyptic world where population and pollution levels have skyrocketed, prompting the formation of self-governing city-towers known as Refiner States. Toxins are extracted from the stratosphere and exported as Space Dust, which is a highly sought-after material by the local population. Players will fight for high-value loot in the Towers and trade their spoils for Space Dust.

In Snapshot V, players will get access to the first of seven Sectors called Sector 3: Cold Storage, where the Space Dust is refined, processed, and packaged. During a match, its temperature regulators will go offline, resulting in a Rising Freeze that takes over the map one floor at a time. All players must find an extraction point before the Rising Freeze reaches them or fight until the end to be the last player standing to win The Deadrop, a mega loot bag for the last combatant.

With that, players can enjoy a more thrilling gameplay experience in which they must decide whether to stay for the ultimate prize or choose to return with their loot. Players could also form alliances with others to increase their chances of survival. However, there is always the possibility that players might accidentally kill their teammates or betray their alliances in exchange for massive rewards. Players could also respawn in the game as their Synthetic replacements (SYN) to fight for their existence.

Previously, only Founder Pass holders could access the early versions of Deadrop. To increase the number of players, Midnight Society has introduced the Tower Key, which grants holders access to Snapshot V and all future Snapshots until the full game release. These Tower Keys are limited in quantity and cost $25 each. But make no mistake: Deadrop will be a free-to-play title at launch. Buying these NFTs is simply a way to play the game ahead of everyone else.
